We had our first little family fishing trip Sunday morning.
Emily would NOT leave the worms alone,

not too long after this photo she released them into the water.
The catch of the day! After releasing him back into the water, Zack declared "Now I'm gonna catch his mom!"

The Niles Library had a little program featuring some animals from the Akron Zoo. We saw a skunk, a gecko and the cockroaches.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all my favorite Dads!

Earlier this week, Zack told me he's going to be my dad when he gets bigger so I can have 2 dads. I asked him if that's because he wants to be like my dad when he grows up and he said yeah (in a very "duh mom" tone). Here's Zack & Emily getting a little fishing lesson from my dad.

Retirement Party!

Yesterday was our 9th Wedding Anniversary and we spent the evening celebrating Greg's mom's retirement. As soon as we got there, our kids were on the dance floor even though the music was of the elevator variety. These are the rocking chairs we chipped in on. Greg's dad is also retiring in a couple of weeks and these should be great for the cabin.

After a while, Zack and Ethan lost interest in dancing and bellied up to the bar to chat with Ike, the bartender. I swear they were there for an hour bending his ear. Emily and Abby joined them later for shots of Sprite.


Nancy had a nice turn out of co-workers and I'm glad the kids were so well behaved considering this was basically an adult party. They played a Phantom of the Opera song in honor of our anniversary so we had a wonderful evening. All the way home, Emily kept telling us, over and over, that she danced with Abby and Grandma.

Little Aqua Man!

Zack started swim lessons last night! He did a great job listening and had no hesitations. I had a heck of a time getting some good pictures between the lighting and trying to keep Emily from stripping down and jumping in. Hopefully, by the end of the session I'll have some other pictures to share.


At the end of class he came stomping over to me complaining that he didn't want to leave! I practically had to drag or bribe him out.

Happy Birthday Abby!
